Outcomes-Based Planning and Evaluation Course
This resource is an online course about Outcomes Based Planning and Evaluation ("OBPE"). It is designed for museum professionals and librarians. Modules include:
- Introduction: An introduction to OBPE, including program examples, OBPE benefits, and a list of resources
- Plan: Planning an OBPE approach to your program, including assessing audience needs, defining your solution and your own definitions of success, considering other stakeholders, and articulating your program's purpose
- Build: This module walks you through the creation of a simplified logic model, including outcomes, inputs, services and activities, and outputs.
- Evaluate: Using logic model elements to determine indicators and data collection approaches.
- Report: Ties reporting back to the logic model, showing how to use the logic model elements in various kinds of reports and offering guiding questions for report structuring.
All modules include on-screen resources and tailored examples for library and museum programs. The tutorial is written in clear, friendly language. A logic model worksheet is included.
